PrinceGod MaroonGods, born Ryan Gardner, is a hip hop artist and visionary reigning from Chicago, IL. Although music is his central focus, football has always been his passion since a young kid. He played football at the Division 1 University of Illinois and Tennessee State University but off-the-field troubles hindered his dream of making it to the NFL. Paying the consequences of past mistakes, while also regaining vision in his life, PrinceGod MaroonGods picked up a notepad and began to take writing more seriously. From that point PrinceGod MaroonGods has become an artist of stature and originality.

PrinceGod MaroonGods delivers a colorful almost nursery rhyme-like lyric of smoothness and bounce. His style is rooted in the deep soul music of legends such as Ray Charles, Etta James, and James Brown. There is also a hint of prominent psychedelic soul artists such as the Rotary Connection and The Doors infused within his sound. PrinceGod MaroonGods is a natural on stage with a magnetic flow that draws his audience into a groove. He’s well known for his exuberant and energetic stage presence which has served as trademark. PrinceGod MaroonGods has graced many stages including Chicago’s northside venue The U.S. Beer Company and the African Festival of The Arts just to name a few. In doing so he has created a following of loyal supporters within and without Chicago’s hip hop circuit.

PrinceGod MaroonGods previous recorded works are entitled “MaroonGods Volume 1” and “Sunday Morning”. He jokes and says, “My off-the-field problems with football are the reasons why I am such a great artist. I always saw things different and people never understood me”. Nevertheless, PrinceGod MaroonGods has found a way to use his uniqueness of character in a manner that is more understood. He credits his parents for their understanding and support.

In retrospect, PrinceGod MaroonGods is an artist that cannot be denied. He is one of talent and drive. The future of PrinceGod MaroonGods is one of definite promise and transcendence within the culture of Hip Hop. He has a style and charisma that personifies his musical sound of clean-cut boldness and design.
